I have a new problem. I woke my PC up (it was in sleep mode) and tried to use my lathe. Windows doesn't recognize the board. I got a "Device Descriptor Request Failed" error. Turning the PC on and off doesn't help. Uninstalling and reinstalling the KFlop doesn't help. I can't get KMotion to see the board.

Am I better off giving up on Windows 10? I have a couple of old XP computers I don't use, and they are available. It's very tough to make them work with Windows 10 in a workgroup, though.

Windows 10 is like all versions of Windows. A big box of broken promises.

I installed Mach3 and the Dynomotion stuff on my old XP laptop, and it worked fine. Then I decided to check the desktop. After the laptop succeeded in communicating with the KFlop, the Windows 10 desktop had no problems.

So now I can use the desktop, but every time it goes crazy, I'll have to hook the laptop up to the KFlop to straighten things out.

Hi toolhoarder,

Did you ever resolve this?  Maybe it has nothing to do with Sleep.  Possibly the Drivers weren't installed properly?

Regards

Once I got it to work by waking it up with the laptop, I left it alone. I don't know why it had this problem. I assumed it was the usual Windows 10 connectivity mess.

I'm just glad it functions.
